This project is an experiment in working from sketchbook line drawings and invented color (a departure from observed color). The focus is placed on the harmony and relationships of the geometric shape patterns I noticed in my sketchbook drawings. The media is charcoal pencil, ink wash, pastel and gouache paint that are layered over each other on rough textured watercolor paper. Each drawing measures 24" x30". More than anything, this was an enjoyable process, where I was able to respond more intuitively to the design while layering different media.
